What our clients are saying...

After 14 years of procrastination in our 1950’s, 2Bdrm, 1 bath ranch/cape in Lexington, we had reached the “redesign or move” point. Our 10 year daughter needed more privacy, and we were sick of bumping into our clothes bureaus every time we got out of bed in our cramped “master bedroom”. The walls and woodwork were beyond the point where repainting was a cure. We had given up on entertaining guests as there was neither room nor a pleasant place to hang out.

And yet, we loved our neighborhood, our town and its school system. The “next step” simply wasn’t available without giving up all the equity we had earned in our home in order to get just a marginally better house.

We had heard of Win through friends, whose home had been radically transformed from a similar undersized, out-of-date dwelling to a unique, spacious, highlight of its neighborhood. When we sat down with Win, he was patient, taking time to understand our ambitions, our budgetary constraints and our lifestyle.

The design he came up with blew us away. Where we had been stuck in our own design thoughts with the location of existing rooms and staircases, Win envisioned a house that retained the same basic footprint, but tripled the usable space by going up a story and pushing back a few feet into our back yard. Interior walls came down, our prior garage (never used for our cars) became our new front entrance, and our living space was free-flowing, naturally-lit and visually inviting from every angle. We were thrilled with having a full-size bedroom, with a walk-in closet! What a difference!

Now we love to be at home and we welcome guests. We each have established our own relaxation spaces, which are close enough so that we can be together without being on top of each other. From the outside, our house is inviting and intriguing, with unique design features (an arch doorway) and a front and back yard made more attractive by the home they now contain.

We couldn’t be happier with the result. We enthusiastically recommend Win’s work!

In 2007 we relocated to the Boston area and bought a small, dark, boxy 1937 colonial house. We hired Meridian Design to make our house more comfortable for our family. Win completely transformed our home and surpassed all of our expectations. The open, updated floor plan makes living and entertaining a dream. Everyone who enters our home is completely blown away by the magazine quality design! We have been living in our home one year now and there is still nothing that I would change about it - it suits us perfectly. Win answered all of our design dilemmas, nothing was left out. We got a huge family room, dramatic kitchen, large pantry and laundry room, elegant entrance, large walk-in closets. I thought making such a small, outdated home into the home of our dreams would be impossible but Win gave us everything on our "must have" wish list and he managed to fit it all in within our budget.

Meridian Design was wonderful to work with, the attention to detail and the personal care we received made us feel as though we were his only clients. We could not be happier with the results - we are very proud of our new home.
