Tempietto Homes was founded in 2008 by Windsor Mallett as the new homes division of Meridian Contracting Ltd, the design and build firm based in Sudbury, Massachusetts he has owned and operated since 1975.
Tempietto Homes create designs using innovative building techniques, sustainable materials and renewable energy resources. Tempietto Homes unites traditional forms with contemporary ones to appeal to homeowners seeking spatially dynamic, efficient living spaces that are environmentally responsive.
It is right and proper to envision a hopeful, beautiful future, and to create new forms to express it. The word “Tempietto” means “little temple,” and at Tempietto Homes, this aesthetic is embodied in our mission to find a thoughtful resolution in home designs where seeming opposites are united, not as two, but as one. Rather than a midpoint or compromise between extremes, we believe a different point offers a new style. Tempietto Homes represents the boldness of ideas held in juxtaposition. The memory of the past, and the imagined future, as a new idea.
Tempietto Homes offer seven unique designs in its existing catalogue, each of which highlight the company’s versatile and distinct approach. New ones will be appearing on a regular basis.
All Tempietto Homes feature efficient design of space and floor plans; insulation that exceeds current code requirements; use of abundant natural light; plenty of fresh air ventilation; low maintenance materials and finishes; and utilization of locally grown, produced, and renewable materials.
Sustainable and energy efficient systems in Tempietto Homes include a 10-panel photovoltaic system; triple pane windows; whole house fans; high efficiency boiler; energy recovery ventilators; natural tempering ENERGY STAR® appliances; dual flush toilets; and radiant heat option.
The following are standard materials used by Tempietto Homes on current projects:
Consistent with its core belief in collaboration and creating new forward-thinking homes, Tempietto Homes believes strongly in the inherent energy, optimism and talent of young people emerging into the workplace, including builders, designers, and architects. To that end, Tempietto Homes has an ongoing relationship and affiliation with the Practice group of BAC (Boston Architectural College), to provide hands-on, sustainable design and building opportunities for the students. In turn, Tempietto Homes is able to tap into the bold, new thinking of today’s young talent.
